Bari Weiss Is "Done With Covid" Because She Is A Spoiled Brat
Covid isn't over because a professional contrarian says it is.
by Ben Cohen
“I’m done with Covid! I’m done!….And then we were told you get the vaccine. You get the vaccine and you get back to normal. And we haven’t gotten back to normal. And it’s ridiculous at this point…
I know that so many of my liberal and progressive friends are with me on this and they do not want to say it out loud because they are scared to be called anti-vaxxed or to be called science deniers or to be smeared as a Trumper…
I'm sorry, but if you believe the science, you will look at the data that we did not have two years ago and you will find out that cloth masks do not do anything. You will realize that you can show your vaccine passport at a restaurant and still be asymptomatic in carrying Omicron. And you realize, most importantly, that this will be remembered by the younger generation as a catastrophic moral crime.”
- Bari Weiss on Bill Maher
Bari Weiss is “done with Covid”. Done because she’s bored of watching Netflix, wearing masks, and observing social distancing. Done because she got vaccinated and believed that would be the end of it. Done because she has found some scientific studies to support her positions, and done because we’ve been doing this for two years and she wants to go out to bars with her friends.
Three cheers to Bari Weiss for speaking out! How brave she is going against the Liberal Nazis controlling public debate and insisting we all get vaccinated and observe sensible Covid rules!
Unfortunately for Weiss and her merry band of Covid minimizers, anti-vaxxers and anti-Woke hustlers, Covid does not care one bit about her list of grievances.
The reality of Omicron
The Omicron variant is currently killing roughly 2,000 people a day in America. It is as lethal as the Delta variant given how rapidly it spreads, and the unvaccinated are still clogging up emergency rooms around the country.
The situation is so severe that doctors and nurses now being pressured to work on Covid wards even when they themselves have Covid. Thousands of healthcare workers are burning out and quitting the profession due to PTSD, depression, and other severe mental health conditions. They watch patients of all ages decline and die horribly from Covid on an hourly basis. They hold their hands, call loved ones for them, and are more often than not the last person the dying patient sees.
Doctors and nurses are begging the public to get vaccinated, not because they are paid by Big Pharma to pump Pfizer drugs into their patients arms, but because they can’t face watching more people die unnecessarily. If you want to see what it is like on the frontline, watch this:
Bari Weiss’s “science”
It is true that cloth masks don’t work for Omicron. That’s why the CDC recommends N95s and KN95 masks. It wasn’t true for Delta and other Covid variants though, but as the science of this pandemic changes, so too does the advice. Weiss saying that “cloth masks don’t work” is disingenuous at best, and outright manipulative and false at worst.
School closures are a huge inconvenience for parents and can have severe consequences on children’s mental health. But contrary to Weiss’s hyperbolic assertion that it is a “catastrophic moral crime”, the evidence still shows that they are sometimes necessary to stop community transmission. Furthermore, teachers have been on the frontlines in the pandemic, and teaching unmasked, unvaccinated students presents a real risk for them.
Weiss has a lot to say about education and how teachers should be behaving, but she gets to sit at home posting on her newsletter to make a living. Until she gets out there and exposes herself to Covid on a daily basis like teachers are, her opinion is irrelevant.
Weiss’s schtick
While Weiss undoubtedly scored points with her growing fanbase of disaffected liberals, centrists and, well, everyone sick of Covid, but her contribution to the debate isn’t helpful.
Yes, Weiss is saying out loud what responsible people secretly think during their low points, but the difference is that responsible people know better. They weigh up their own frustrations with all the restrictions, the vaccinations, the masks, the school closures and social distancing and remember that two thousand people a day are still dying from Covid. They remember that their actions have an effect on other people, that a Covid outbreak might not put them in the hospital, but it could kill their parents, grandparents or someone else’s family member. Responsible people remember that their suffering has a purpose, that they are in a small way relieving the burden on our health care workers battling this horrible disease on a daily basis. Until the crisis in the hospital subsides and more people get vaccinated, we must still behave responsibly.
Perhaps Bari Weiss should volunteer herself to work on a Covid ward so she can speak with some authority on this. One suspects she might not be so flippant after watching people choke to death as their lungs collapse.
We are still in a pandemic and nothing professional contrarians like Bari Weiss say will end it. Our collective actions will, and that means calling out the bullshitters making it that much harder for the rest of us.

Why Is The Press Sabotaging Biden?
If Biden were the failure the press keeps insisting he is, they wouldn’t be working so hard to create that narrative.
by Justin Rosario
Joe Biden’s marathon press conference last week was an embarrassment for the United States.
Did you think I was talking about Biden? No. He did fine — I’m talking about the press desperately trying to frame the narrative that Biden is a failure. They’ve been at it for the better part of a year and the frustration is clearly mounting that Biden himself won’t play ball.
Looking back at Biden’s first year, it’s easy to see why the press is so confident in their assessment.
“Failure” on top on “failure”
Biden ended America’s longest war which is exactly what the overwhelming majority of the country wanted him to do. This was definitely Biden’s “Fall of Saigon” moment because the press made sure to mention it about 5000 times. And it was exactly like the Fall of Saigon minus enemy troops overrunning the base and the American military fleeing in a panic under constant attack. Oh, and we left of our own accord.
Sure, it was messy and chaotic at first, but no American was left behind who did not choose to remain. Over 120,000 people were evacuated, making it the largest airlift in American history. The press knew Biden could have ended a losing war in a more orderly fashion but no one could seem to explain how. That the public was not still talking about Biden’s failure after a few weeks left many journalists grinding their teeth. In their eyes, it was an irredeemable debacle Biden must be punished for….

You nailed it. She's a narcissistic spoiled brat.
I think many of the vaccine refusers are actually spoiled brats, and I think it would be good for them to be labeled as such in the hope that some might be embarrassed enough to get the shot. Same story with many of the "stand your ground" killers, in my opinion.
