Biden Is Part Of A Dying Breed Of Democrats. We Need To Keep It Alive.
America's splintering political system is a sign we can't deal with big problems any more. What we need is a new generation of Biden style Democrats.

Having lived in the US on and off for 20 years now, I cannot remember a time when the country was this broken. Even during the Bush years and the Iraq war, the warring ideological factions still debated each other, and politicians across the spectrum agreed on (some) rudimentary realities.
As a very basic example, when President Obama beat John McCain in 2008 and replaced George W. Bush, there were no riots on the street. Bush did not try to stay in office, and McCain accepted his defeat with dignity. This is not to forgive the neocons for plunging the US into two tragic wars, or make light of Bush’s terrible economic and environmental policies. But as bad as Bush and the neocons were, they were not trying to destroy American democracy or stop the orderly transition of power.
Furthermore, the neocon right were not (at least overtly) racist misogynists. The MAGA movement however, is an openly fascist movement built on hatred of women and a belief in white supremacy. What was once regarded as a fringe movement of sexually frustrated, xenophobic, extremists became a powerful political force willing to use violence to maintain power.
Bush Republicans always renounced racism. Trump Republicans went to marches carrying flags like this:
