There’s a brutal heat wave crushing the western United States but Republicans all over the country are sweating bullets and it has nothing to do with the weather. A joyous Spring of inevitable electoral conquest has turned into a wilting Summer of dwindling prospects. Now, the GOP faces the real possibility of dismal failure in the Fall, an almost unthinkable outcome just a handful of weeks ago.
How bad is it for the party of semi-fascism? Bad enough that “Dems In Disarray” has become “Republicans On The Run.” As President Joe Biden would say, that is a Big Fucking Deal.
