Republicans Need To Do This With Trump (But They Won’t)
I’m comfortable dispensing this party-saving advice because I know they’ll never accept it.

WASHINGTON, DC – Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about politics. He might know a thing or two about marketing, but not politics.
So, how did he get to be president? Well, his strategic contribution to his very narrow 2016 victory was marketing, not politics. The Republican Party establishment dealt with the politics, which is partly how the then-chairman of the RNC, Reince Priebus, became Trump’s first chief of staff. Reince knew politics and Trump didn’t.
That said, Trump thinks he knows about politics. In fact, I’m almost certain he thinks he’s the greatest at politics. Very, very tremendous. Perhaps the greatest political mind in history. He may think that, but like most of the self-aggrandizing gibberish pinging through his addled gray matter, it’s just not true.
He’s lost three general elections in a row. His name was on the ballot each time, either literally or in spirit. It can be factually stated that Trump is a three-time loser. He lost in 2018, when the Democrats reclaimed Congress. He lost in 2020, when the American people rejected his divisiveness, rage, and incompetence. And he lost in 2022 when many of his copycats failed to deliver what should’ve been a victorious election for Republicans.
On that note, the 2022 midterm election ended this week after Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated Trump’s often-confused champion Herschel Walker. But it wasn’t just Trumpism that convinced voters to hand a series of victories to the Democratic Party and the Biden administration. It was Trump himself who screwed his party and his own nefarious legacy.
Why? How?
