Trump and Musk Interfere with Hurricane Aid in Open Attempt at Murder and Sabotage
They are taking advantage of the widespread death and destruction in the most cynical and callous way imaginable.

Less than two weeks ago, Hurricane Helene ran over Florida, Georgia, and parts of Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. Between Helene and the series of storms that had rolled through the week before, almost forty trillion gallons of water were dumped on the area (no that is not a typo). The inland flooding was extensive, damaging, and deadly.
Republicans swung into action almost immediately. Not to help, but to make things worse.
Within days, Trump was bellowing about how President Joe Biden was refusing to help people in areas that voted for Trump. This was not true, of course. Biden had FEMA and the military on the ground within hours, delivering supplies and helping with search and rescue.
As always, every Republican accusation is a confession. Trump let Puerto Rico wither after Hurricane Maria because they weren’t “nice” to him. Trump repeatedly refused to send federal aid to fire-ravaged California. He had to be shown voting data before signing off on the desperately needed money. He had to be convinced, you see, that he wasn’t helping Democrats but rather “his people.”
But what we are seeing now is a whole new level of vile. Republicans are trying to sabotage federal aid and get people killed, all to benefit Donald Trump.
Sabotage and attempted murder
Despite Republican governors being very clear that the Biden administration is doing its job under immensely difficult circumstances, other Republicans refuse to pass up the opportunity to incite hysteria and violence. The AP has the nauseating details:
According to former President Donald Trump, the federal government is intentionally withholding aid to Republican disaster victims. Far-right extremist groups warn on social media that officials plan to bulldoze affected communities and seize the land from residents. A tale straight from science fiction asserts that Washington used weather control technology to steer Helene toward Republican voters in order to tilt the presidential election toward Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Yes, the Jewish Space Lasers™ are back! But it gets worse. Elon Musk has turned Twitter into a megaphone for propaganda of his own invention:
This is not actually happening. Musk made it up. FEMA is not seizing supplies. No SpaceX engineer sent this note. It’s just pure fabrication.
It’s important to understand that Trump and Musk and all the rest of the loudest screeching monkeys know they are lying. The more outrageous the lie, the happier they are to push it. Dead bodies make people even angrier. The more chaos, the better.
The goal here is simple: Interfere with the government’s ability to help.
Do we really need to explain why? That’s even simpler. It’s quite literally what Republicans have been doing to this country since Reagan. Break everything, blame Democrats, keep it from being fixed. Then use the resulting anger at the government to win elections on a platform of “We can fix it.”
The only significant deviation from the standard GOP model is that Republicans did not cause the hurricane. They are simply taking advantage of the widespread death and destruction in the most cynical and callous way imaginable.
After all, Republicans learned a valuable lesson from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Was it to do a better job when in power? No. Was it to better prepare for climate change-fueled storms with devastating impacts? No. It was that there is a steep political price to be paid when people feel abandoned. So, Republicans are doing everything possible to make people believe that is what is happening.
Worse, Republicans are actively interfering with relief efforts, slowing them down and putting FEMA workers in danger. All with the explicit intent of stoking rage and hate and ensuring less cooperation at a moment requiring people to pull together to save lives and keep communities from further pain.
The coming storm
Florida is about to get walloped, again, sometime on Wednesday by Hurricane Milton, currently a Category 5. The damage will be, again, widespread and lives will be lost. Power will be out, roads will be blocked, and people will be trapped. Florida is better at handling this sort of thing (they have a lot of practice) but they’ll need help nonetheless.
That means Trump and Musk and the rest of them will swoop in to spread lies. It will not matter what FEMA does. Twitter will be flooded with posts about Kamala Harris stealing money to give to Haitians, immigrants sleeping in luxury hotels, and real (white) Americans sleeping on the streets. Where’s the justice? Maybe the real Americans, should do something about it before they are all replaced by illegal aliens.
Because that, ultimately, is what this is about. Priming the base for violence. This is the goal Trump has been working toward for the better part of a decade. His first attempt was January 6th, 2021. It was sloppy, unorganized, and it still almost toppled the government.
Now Trump has most of the Republican Party onboard and a lot of tech bro billionaires who are done with democracy. What we are witnessing is not a cynical ploy to help Trump win an election. Trump has no intention of winning fairly. What we are seeing is Trump and his party of fascists gearing up to declare war, both metaphorical and literal, on the United States in order to seize power.
The Big Lie will be that the election was stolen, but the cumulative effect all of these little lies will allow them to pull the trigger.

Another Substack post or note pointed out that Musk’s account (either personal, or the stolen America one) had its settings changed to disallow community notes.
The Republican Party has become a terrorist organization. We should figure out a way to establish that fact legally, then prosecute them in a court of law. Somehow their illegal and immoral behavior should be stopped. At least put them on a terrorist watch list of some sort.
