"In the meantime, you can bet Democrats are going to hammer Sheehy over the head nonstop with his very unlikely story."
I certainly hope the Democrats have learned enough to do this. Making use of obvious advantages hasn't been their strong suit.
For example, Marylyn Lands makes IVF and abortion the centerpiece of her campaign and wins by 25 points in Alabama. To be clear: By 25 points. In ALABAMA. Talking supporting *abortion*. Yet some in Democratic campaigns continue to view abortion as a "third rail" topic.
Justin, what do you think about Texas’s race between Cruz (R) and Allred (D)? I notice you didn’t talk about it, it seems everyone is writing us off again, that we are a lost cause and don’t try. Cruz barely won last time, less than 3 points, and Allred is out raising the previous democratic nominee (Beto) 3 to 1. I know money is not the end all be all, but it helps. Beto came out came out way too strong against the 2nd amendment and he could never recover from that, but Allred has shaped his message around women’s rights, education, and immigration reform, which is doing well here. Also Cruz is pretty well hated here especially after his attempted escape to Cancun when we were freezing and without power.
I don't know. The polling is all over the place and Texas is THE leader is voter suppression. I would love to see Cruz lose and Texas elect a Democrat. The panic among Republicans would be beyond anything we can imagine! :)
There will be a collective sigh of relief and a lot of celebrating if this all comes to pass. Feeling more hopeful each day. Not complacent, just hopeful.
I love watching twits like Sheehy literally shoot themselves in the foot or leg trying to be all macho (YouTube is great for these).
I'm normally not quite this optimistic but I'm operating under the assumption that Trump is going to have a bad night in November and if has a bad night, he drags down the rest of the GOP with him. A narrow win becomes a narrow loss and a bad candidate becomes an insurmountable obstacle. Republicans can't seem to find good candidates anymore. They're all kooks, grifters, and liars. Oh well. Just like Trump.
Justin Mabey they , the Republicans, should just slip away like the conservatives did here in Canada.
We ,meaning conservatives ( I'm a conservative) we got decimated in 1993. Check it out , the worst defeat ever in The History Of Western World Elections.
They held 156 seats they ended Up with 2 yes that's right 2.
It took us until 2006 to win again ,
It lasted until 2015.
As an outsider looking down from up here, it looks like the Republicans are , to use their own words:
I don’t doubt that you’ve seen this comment from me before, but here goes, anyway.
From your lips to God’s ear, Justin.
"Democrats just need to hold on as the GOP continues to rot away."
Not just hold on. Actively push the putrid fish into the sunlight so it rots faster.

Here's hoping they get a fucking clue!

Not for nothing, if Republicans lose control of Texas, there will never be another Republican president again. Ever.

As someone else wrote, from your mouth to God's ears. This country won't survive as a democracy if Trump wins in November.

RINO : REPUBLICAN IN NAME ONLY
Possibly it should be the following.
PINO: PARTY IN NAME ONLY.
