Reading this article 18 months after its publishing. There isn’t a more hilariously inaccurate and personally satisfying piece of literary dreck I can think of. Some of us knew the real truth 18 months ago, and some of us are Ben Cohen.
This is one man’s theory- mine, and I have no documentation to back it up. Capitalism as we know it is broken and run amuck. It has bought and paid for what used to be our government, the Republican party in particular. The country is inundated with marketing and money has become the be all and end all for huge numbers of Americans. Because so many are incapable of accumulating enough money to have whatever they want, a sense of frustration and deep unhappiness has filled many people making them susceptible to ideas and schemes that provide them with easy and immediate places to hang their hats. Coupled with ignorance, poor or little education and a resulting lack of the ability to think critically, people are easy marks for charlatans. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix this except possibly greater emphasis on education.
I think this is spot on. The only longterm solution is to heavily invest in education. Education works like a vaccine -- it isn't perfect and doesn't work all of the time, but it can prevent worst case scenarios. Like 'QAnon'.
There's no way you see the irony of your statement, is there? The fear mongering didn't just flow from COVID alarmists, there was no shortage of it from people claiming the vaccine would turn your brain to mush, infest you with 5G microbots, demon-chemistry, and tracking devices, or poison or sterilize you. The COVID alarmists claims, in the end, at least rang partially true: the disease was fatal for millions. Have any of the claims of the antivaxers come to pass? No.
Quite a bit has changed since Feb 2021. this post did not age well. I wonder when you decide to take it down. Origins of the Coronavirus is my favorite swing and miss here. That one was easy, even some liberals weren't fooled on that.

It's interesting: people on both the right and the left say the same things about each other. Who's right though? Maybe both.
What a fear mongering waste of screen space. Pathetic.

Uh, yes. Many in fact. Just depends on whether you really care to look.
