I do hope that the only positive result could be the undoing of Putin and the weakening of autocrats, including Trump, and others, as a subsequent corollary. I certainly am in the camp that is so grateful that the former president is not in office during this monumental crisis. It would have been a fearsome disaster if he were still president at this time. I also agree with your assessment of how crazy the far right is, especially your skewering of the stupidest person ever to represent constituents in Congress: Marjorie Taylor Greene. I think Justin said, "She's not well," and I totally agree. The Republican Party should be known now as the "Government of Putin," rather than the Grand Old Party. There is nothing grand about this anti-American, pro-Russian party operating right here in this country.
A mild correction (everyone makes this mistake): Formally, it’s a joint SESSION only when the President is in attendance. Otherwise, it’s a joint MEETING. Zelenskyy addressed a joint *meeting* of Congress. Apologies for the pedantry. 🤔😉😊
