And since no one has delivered the required protection kickback, Trump is vengefully running around the shop breaking things (“That’s a nice country you got there. It would be a shame if anything happened to it.), like shutting off military intelligence and satellite imagery over Ukraine, and withdrawing support for NATO nations who dare to support Zielinskyy.
I did witness a report yesterday on Instagram from Ukraine, stating that there are now no warning sirens prior to missile hits around Kyiv.
But the main reason for telecasting this shakedown was probably to send a clear message to other country heads that they need to ante-up (eg with $Trump coin purchases) if they hope to be granted any favors from the Orange syndicate.
Zelinsky was lucky they didn’t rough him up with brass knuckles for theatrical effect in front of the cameras, just to get the message across to all the heads of foreign nations who were watching.

When I think about these 2 traitors beating up on a patriot and hero I break into a sweat and envision extreme violence. It's why the person who would betray you expects you would betray them (and the justification they use to betray you). It's why the person who would not betray their partner assumes their partner would not betray them so doesn't see it coming.
Trump and Vance don't care shit for anyone else, so they cannot believe anyone else would. If they were in Zelenskyy's position they'd be thinking only of themselves, so they expect that's what Zelenskyy would do as well.

Reports are Zelenskyy is still open to a deal, looking for security guarantees and a way for the US to have an economic interest in helping Ukraine. But trusting any guarantees from Trump is ridiculous, and so far Trump's offer is still basically "surrender to Russia and the war will end."
I realize the world politics of the situation may require Zelenskyy to not burn any bridges, but I really think he's got nothing to lose as long as Trump is in power and should just say "Fuck off, Trump." and work with Europe to get them to say the same. Seriously, the US has ended it's time as a world leader and the rest of the world should act accordingly.
