I totally agree with Bob about how it's not feasible that the gun issue could be resolved legislatively because of how many representatives and senators are in the pocket of the horrible gun lobby. There has to be a massive reorientation on our obsession with guns on a national level, incorporating the corporate and public sectors. Hollywood too. This should mirror the anticigarette campaign undertaken in the 60s which resulted in the change in public opinion towards smoking.
What more can be said about our very own Marjorie Taylor Greene other that she exists solely to inflame a whole lot of people and to own the "libs." She is a freaking embarrassment to the entire repugnican party and to the nation, but Kevin McCarthy can't do anything about her spewing her own particular brand of hatred since the party has been identified as the Party of Lunatics now. Also, I think we should now call the sect of Trumpers the new GOP ("Guns over People"). (I saw this new acronym coined by someone on TikTok the other day and I liked it.) This characterizes it very well since it won't back commonsense gun legislation at all and does not care about the slaughter of this nation's children.
