One appreciates your rational response to the question: Has the price of bacon really gone up? But I think after nearly 9 years of dealing with this guy, attempts to be rebut him are wasted. The standard reply should be: The fatman's mouth is moving and that means he's lying. It doesn't matter what he's talking about, it's all lies.
Yeah we know it's BS, but the thing about bacon prices is that this should be something his fans are aware of. People eat more bacon where Trump is more popular. But they know the truth, because they go to the grocery store, visit a butcher, or know a livestock farmer. So if you were a person who thinks Trump just lightly stretches the truth, and often doesn't mean what he says, you might question this one, if you love bacon like 80% of the country. They know he is lying, and they might start to wonder why and what else he might be lying about.
DonOLD often says “we” or “they” in lieu of “me” or “I”. I suspect HE has been told by his doctor(s) they HE can’t eat bacon anymore. I think that explains his focus on bacon. It’s always personal that individual.
Yeah, I saw where this story was going early on... first folks, do the bacon in moderation. Like a killer spaghetti carbonara or a couple slices on a cheeseburger, right? Now, I'm in North Carolina, so the bacon prices didn't even increase as much as the article mentions, but still I don't even know why Trump would say that. Anyone who grocery shops on a regular basis knows it ain't true. He should have picked home repair costs. Even with Lowe's headquartered in my backyard, inflation drove the cost of getting a new door into uncharted territory a year ago. Or getting your roof shingled, or new gutters, etc. Then again, North Carolina is growing and new housing is available all over the place, and some rather average folks are profiting, so that could help explain Kamala Harris leading Trump here. Either that or the bacon.
The difference is that the cost of *services* like home repair reflects the cost of people’s time, as opposed to the largely-automated processing of commodities. That’s the largest single source of inflation generally, paying for the time and effort of the people involved. 🤔😉😊
