You make a sound argument, but I fear that remaining in twitter is akin to attending a KKK rally in hopes of changing their perspective. An effort of futility. The Musk-Ox platform is being invaded by every right-wing nut job with a keyboard. Not sure the sane want to engage with a mob mentality, and i use the term loosely, of that nature. The ground swell would have to be so large as to create a "Blue Tsunami". If we could create that kind of uprising, it would be amazing!

^^^ This is also my take. Also, staying to fight to save an actual public square is one thing, while staying to fight for a private company is a different standard entirely, for me at least. That said, I enjoyed reading and thinking through this post. I think we have a lot to learn from listening to one another as we watch it burn.

Time is ripe for the “normals” to leave. Find another chamber for discussion. What a waste of time ranting against a population which won’t change. Put our time and effort into positive discussions with folks willing to listen. Spend time educating a younger group to move forward. The Twitter mentality has not changed for a Millenium - and will not. Leave the site

If "normals" flee twitter leaving it to the Republicans and other deplorables, it becomes just another echo chamber for them. I don't really see why us normals should pick that as the area to fight in.
