If you think AOC runs on woke, you need to re-evaluate her speeches Ben. Far as I can tell, she’s the only one doing progressive stuff in a way that gets mainstream Dem voters’ attention without pushing them away. Which is far better than Sanders’ tactics, even if it remains untested nationally.

I'm a fan of AOC and do care about many of the "identity politics" issues. But AOC can't win a general election and Dems desperately need a new way of talking about helping minorities/marginalized people etc. Whatever they have been doing has failed and the left needs to come to terms with it.

Except the Left can’t. As far as they’re concerned, they’ve never been in charge and, even when leaders do things similar to what they want, the methods were still to moderate in practice. They’re a fraction of the entire voting block but right wingers have convinced everyone that they run the show. And so long as AOC’s on tour with Sanders, she’s gonna be seen as an unofficial leader. Because god knows how many people want her to take Schumer’s spot…

She’s fearless which anyone with a brain and pulse admires. Most of the “left” which includes me I’m guessing, are less inclined to demolish what works.

But does it work when we find ourselves perpetually surprised by the depths of viscousness the GOP employs and their supporters (not small donors but the real money) throw at elections? Perpetually fighting from behind?
