Identity synthesis, “anti racism™️”, DEI - what a pile of totalitarian propaganda. The far Left are masters at achieving the exact opposite of what they claim they want to achieve. Riding on the outrage following George Floyd the far Left have taken progressives in for the suckers they always marked them to be.

Following the genius of “defund” helping the GOP in swing districts, this far more insidious, patently racist indoctrination can only turn people off. I don’t know about anyone else, but as a consistently liberal center-Left Democratic Party voter I am grossed out and outraged by these absurd concepts that have infiltrated progressive politics.

I am Jewish, I have kids in college and high school, I get to see how these ideas in particular threaten my family. Fuck. This. Shit. I am never donating a dime again to public radio, to progressive causes, to my university as an alumni. I am never donating to a single progressive house representative - not before progressives disavow this lunacy. Somehow I doubt they’ll do that. People in a cult double down on crazy.

I’m afraid you made the same kind of linguistic error that Susan Sarandon made. The way you said what you said seems to show lack of awareness that Jews have experienced being “trashed…for everything under the sun” for, like, thousands of years. But now, someone is getting a taste of it? Who indeed? What is the antecedent of “you”? 🤔😉😊

I understand you. I still have the liberal wing of the Democratic Party as my home. It is the de-facto center in the US. Progressives are the useful idiots of the far Left. Far Left and far Right agree on anti Jewish hate.

“these educators were entirely comfortable posting genocide denial and celebratory remarks about October 7th.”

Anyone who posts celebratory remarks about Oct 7th is just vile. As is anyone who celebrates the deaths of innocent Palestinians due to Israel’s bombing.

Jews are not the same as the warmongers in their government and many are opposed to and shocked by what’s being done in Gaza. Palestinians are not the same as Hamas and many are shocked and repulsed by the savagery of Oct 7.

None of these observations are contradictory.

Admittedly I’m protected in my American shell from situations and daily oppressions people in other parts of the world have have to deal with, but still I cannot fathom the level of blindered hate necessary to curse every single member of a group for things many in that group don’t support.

Nobody celebrates the death of Palestinian civilians due to bombings - that’s a straw man invented in an attempt to balance out how most anti Jewish hate crimes are carried out by pro Hamas conservative Muslims and their idiotic Leftists allies. Islamophobic attacks aren’t carried out by Jews. Jews are the victims of Muslims.

To be clear, I didn't cite an example of someone celebrating. I was making a general statement that anyone who does is vile. If what would be considered "celebrating" isn't happening, great. But there are certainly numerous examples of people calling for the death of *all* Palestinians as noted below (with many more examples available). And I doubt those doing so would fail to be pleased if their wishes were carried out. So picking on my use of that word is a bit of a straw man of your own.

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/15/world/middleeast/israel-gaza-war-rhetoric.html

“You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible — we do remember,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, referring to the ancient enemy of the Israelites, in scripture interpreted by scholars as a call to exterminate their “men and women, children and infants.”

Inflammatory language has also been used by journalists, retired generals, celebrities, and social media influencers, according to experts who track the statements. Calls for Gaza [Note: That's "Gaza", not "Hamas."] to be “flattened,” “erased” or “destroyed” had been mentioned about 18,000 times since Oct. 7 in Hebrew posts on X, the site formerly known as Twitte

...

The idea of a nuclear strike on Gaza was raised last week by another right-wing minister, Amichay Eliyahu, who told a Hebrew radio station that THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS NONCOMBATABTS IN GAZA. [Emphasis mine.]

Again, nobody was celebrating the death of Palestinian civilians, even in your examples. This is how progressives are programmed to behave when someone raised the reality of Muslim and Leftists attacking Jews - they have to bring up Islamophobia because of that Identitarian knee-jerk that Muslims are somehow at the receiving end of all hate in the world, the most suffering in some imaginary hierarchy. It’s what happens when people are indoctrinated in a totalitarian cult. Kudos for you that you can accept anti Jewish hate is deep and increasing. Check your head on why you need to inject an imaginary balancing act.

That’s twice you’ve chosen to miss my point. But thank you for providing an example of the point I was making it.

You don’t have a point. You can’t mention anti Jewish hate without inventing something to balance out the ‘daring’ statement. Being progressive requires looking over your shoulder lest you get excoriated for Wrongthink. I hope you get to escape that cult.

How many Israelis do you see dancing in the streets and handing out candy vs. how many did in Gaza on October 7th?

Expand full comment

What's your point here? Israelis good, Palestinians bad?

Seems a bit simplistic and one-sided. Maybe the people high in the Israeli government and military who've called for the deaths of *all* Palestinians (that would include children and civilians) could explain it to me.

Expand full comment

My only point is that Israelis do not celebrate the death of Gazans.

Expand full comment

And mine would be to point out some certainly do call for them. A part you seem to want to ignore.

So, yeah, one side good, other side bad seems to be your take.

Expand full comment

"Some certainly do call for them," vs. the Hamas Charter, which openly calls for the destruction of Israel and which was elected by the people of Gaza. "Some certainly do sall for them," vs. rushing over the border to get their share of the rape, murder, looting and kidnappings. "Some do call for it" vs. humanitarian aid (most of which is stolen by Hamas,) and advance warning to civilians to evacuate to safe zones (to one of which Sinwar himself ran away in an ambulance and from where they continue to fire rockets at Israel). Still waiting to see the dancing Israelis.

Yes, you’ve made it clear.

When Hamas calls for genocide that’s bad. When Israel calls for genocide that’s Hey! Look over there!!

People are openly, viciously racist in 2023...far more than when I was in university in the early 2000’s. It’s just that they believe in these anti-intellectual, reductive ideologies that say that it’s ok, even noble, to hate white people and Jews. They just turned a rainbow upside down and went “ta-da! We fixed it!”

Two tweets I saw today that prove how morally corrupt and uneducated young Americans are: “Liberals who cry about the Ukrainians dying in the war are so racist. Of course they ONLY care when blonde, blue-eyed people die.”

“Israel is an ethno-national, religious state. That is the literal definition of bigotry.”

Brilliant contributions, huh?

Of course, the Jews have experienced persecution to an extreme degree, but many are wealthy and successful, so I guess their heads explode. I’m not Jewish, but from my perspective, I see it as a VERY bizarre fixation born out of almost jealousy and cartoonish distortions that have nothing to do with individual Jewish ppl, but “Jewishness.” It’s delusional.

I’m not sure what is going on in this country but antisemitism doesn’t help Palestinians. Why not work to ensure that both sides live together peacefully? It’s not Palestinians versus Israelis. It’s extremists versus extremists.

And calling for the deaths of Jews is nothing but antisemitism. Anyone with common sense knows this.

I've observed this exact thing in my personal life. I just wanna clarify, I absolutely support and believe in DEI being an asset. BUT, I've heard horror stories of people forced to do and say things in these trainings that are straight up cruel, insulting, and highly damaging to the cause. Just an example, my former mentor is an older gay man. Maybe his 60s. We're talking avoided dying during the aids crisis, old time gay man. He was forced to do a DEI training and pushed to admit that he was inherently an "oppressor" by way of his white skin, totally disregarding that this man comes from one of the most heavily stigmatized and marginalized populations in America.

I dunno about you, but I'd be pissed too! All I'm saying is, it seems like a really fucking dumb idea to be telling potential supporters that they're inherently bad and an oppressor. Do they really think that's a great way to sign people on to the cause? And it personally pisses me off. Why?

Because I'm a white man who's got 7 felonies and yet I made it out of the system, mostly because I was white and had family support and whatever. I 10000% acknowledge that my privilege is what kept me out of jail. I also 10000% recognize that systemic racism is absolutely real. That over policing and criminalization of drugs has led to mass incarceration of black and brown people. And it's fucking wrong. And it pisses me off that dumb ass high minded academics are creating these programs that actively push people away from the cause we need to bring them into. That's why it bothers me so much. I think they're doing actual damage to the cause that desperately needs to be recognized by more and more of regular, middle America folk. Calling them inherently racist or an oppressor certainly isn't going to help.

There is something fundamentally wrong when our Congress is engaged in seeking to suppress Academic Freedom in our universities . Our government is not a vessel or conduit for the War agenda of a foreign nation ( Israel) .

It is patently obvious that our government and our military is bias towards Israel but so are overwhelming majority of our politicians and elected officials in America

To witness this happening in America is unacceptable and should never occur again in any government sanctioned hearings anywhere in America

Yes. At the root of the problem is that we love to tell ourselves that we are wise enough to be gods. To make up our own standard of what is good and right. But to do so we must reject the standards of the only God that actually exists. And in doing so we have lost before we have begun.

I’m sorry to say DEI (aka DIE) is just spreading more racism around and division. After a little research it’s apparent that it was always meant as a power grab/ crush you/ don’t share kind of thing by it’s progenitors, regardless of how others perceived it or wanted to perceive it. 😔
