I agree with your position that the protests against Israel these days serve no sane purpose at all. If there is a ceasefire, as it is now being practiced, there's no logical reason to continue protesting then. Only when armed conflict begins again in the area would these protests make sense.

However, because of his ownership of X, formerly known as Twitter, this makes him a very dangerous character in American culture right now. Only when everyone abandons the media platform will his influence on public opinion eventually wane. He also has to lose a lot of money before that happens. I think the Israeli government missed a big, big opportunity. Hamas reneged on the hostage deal and was the first one to fire rockets. But instead of pointing to Hamas and saying “See? Hamas reneged on the hostages! Hamas broke the truce! Just like we told you, you can’t trust Hamas! We will not retaliate, but look at them!” This would’ve been a major propaganda victory. But no, Netanyahu decided it was better to kill a couple of hundred Palestinians instead. So now the story is about that, rather than about how Hamas is a bunch of weasels. Just stupid.
