It’s so sad when a once good reporter turns to the dark side just for click bait.

It’s always the most self-righteous lefties like Taibbi who later become apologists for fascists.

Being motivated primarily by spite tends to make you gravitate towards whatever side validates your victim mentality the most.

And why the right lionise them so.

I’m sorry but he was never a great journalist. He was à woman-hating nepo baby

His tenure as a good reporter expired years ago soon after the financial crisis of ’08 and he subsequently became the story.

Have to disagree here. The Great Derangement 2008, Griftopia 2010, The Divide 2014 (personal fav), I Can’t Breathe 2017 and Hate Inc. 2019 were all great books. I believe COVID broke his brain and Hunter’s Hog Files ended his journalism career. Quite sad actually

>> “To be clear, an IRS agent did show up at Taibbi’s house…” <<

Hold up. The IRS makes *house calls*?!

No, they do not, not even to warn you about identity theft.

More journalists were prosecuted and harassed under Obama than any other president. That has continued.

Other than Taibbi, for example, Max Blumenthal had a SWAT team raid his house in 2019 on a trumped up assault charge in DC, while Kit Klarenberg has been harassed by UK authorities, likely for exposing their role in pushing for war with Russia.

Never heard of Ben Cohen. Is this Brit probably an Mi6 asset working to undermine our democracy, as they unsuccessfully tried to frame Russia for the same?

Don’t forget, the British have no constitutional rights to either free speech or a free press and this Ben guy is in the US exercising a right to free speech, to defend the overbearing federal regime that absolutely was abrogating our free speech rights on Twitter and elsewhere? The EU freedom of expression is extremely limited, even so far as it could be described as window dressing.

Think about how the NYT and other legacy media lied us into war in Iraq, by behaving as imperial stenographers, instead of journalists?

That revelation did not end their relationship with the CIA, which has supposedly ex, but openly CIA affiliated, agents at many outlets now, like CNN.

Taibbi exposed their roles in at Twitter and Facebook, so they are probably pissed, as are their counterparts at Mi6.

However, even though they have often worked with Mi6, even the CIA opposed British escalations of the Ukraine proxy war.

If you’re going to undermine US election integrity in order to push us into war with the countries you still want to colonize, why not accuse your targets of said undermining efforts, while painting yourself as an “ally”?

And while you’re at it, why not plant some plants in the US to attack US journalists who expose your game, since you can’t openly prosecute them, as you do to those of your official vassal states, such as Australia? It wasn’t a US jail in which Assange languished for years.

Oh, gods, it’s even worse than that.

It’s a *Matt Taibbi* troll bot.

So, you were credulously surprised to discover the IRS makes house calls in cases of identity theft?

Troll bots are boring.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts about his pivoting over into the dark side...I just can't wrap my head around his bizarre views!

I used to love reading his stories in Rolling Stone. After he left RS, I didn’t see any of his work until the Xitter files. Pathetic.

If you remind yourself that Taibbi and the rest of those turds ran a rape club masquerading as a radio station in Moscow the entire 90s and into 2002, things make a lot more sense. If you wanna know what Moscow and rest of Russia was like in the 90s, I recommend https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0420982/.

In any case, I have 90% certainty that Taibbi was recruited soon after Putin’s ascendancy- and that the kind of tapes they have on Taibbi definitely outweigh the proverbial peepee tape authored by the Orange Turd.

This is what happens when the "media"works at making up stories instead of reporting on them! Taibbi is a HACK!

He’s a hired gun….. just like Uger, Greenwald, Snowden, Alex Jones and Joe Rogan. They are all cozy with Russian oligarchs. Tenet media was funneling millions to podcasters that were pimping Russian propaganda. Quite certain Taiibi is getting paid for his “journalism” Such a disappointment too. He fooled me into thinking he had integrity.

He reported from the Soviet Union, you know. Make of that what you will.

He worked for a disgusting expat newspaper in Moscow that published graphic photos of murder victims, described for other wealthy, expat men how best to coerce young Russian girls into sex, and reviewed nightclubs. He's always been a terrible person.

Wow, I didn’t know anything more than that he worked there, which made me think kompromat. That’s really gross, though.

It was in the 90s so after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Thanks for correction. Wherever I’d read that he worked there said USSR, so I went with that without checking the year.

Snarky funny writer once upon a time who turns out to be full of sh*t. He would be a collaborator in a prison camp, no two ways about it.

I remember him from his investigative days at Rolling Stone magazine. A sad fall. It reminds me of what happened to John Pilger.
