“It’s the inequality stupid” could be today’s messaging platform. Wealth inequality is the root cause of Dems loss of the working class, and it’s been building for decades. Our elected officials are mostly beneficiaries of this through their mega donors. They are indebted to big money and corporate donors. We need more AOCs to lead a revitalizing of the Democratic Party.

Same in the UK. Not as bad as the US but getting there. We could easily be taken over by a Trump alike at the next election unless those at the bottom are given hope. Not a sign of that happening yet.

Capitalism and class systems can’t sustain when greed takes over and most people can barely survive while the few at the top live in luxury. We’ve reached that point.

Capitalism has to be regulated or it is red in tooth and claw.

I've been saying that since Reagan. No one seemed to want to hear it.

Julie -- seeing how you're spot on with messaging every single day, and you get plenty of media appearances on the national stage -- it absolutely baffles me why the DNC hasn't brought you on to lead national messaging. Heather Cox Richardson too. We need the right balance of youth, outrage, and facts (hard truths and an understanding of the law) to blast through the firewall MGA has created. The more Schumer is at the podium kvetching about "arousal" let alone that wince inducting crowd chant he tried to lead, the more doomed democracy is. I used to think Hakeem Jeffries was the future, but he's too invested in his off brand Obama imitation (vocalization and hand movements) to be any good. And that big oaf in the shorts, he's sliding into MAGA allegiance and should be voted out ASAP. So who's left for the left to be loud, menacing, and effective to rally the 70M+ who voted for Harris and all the MAGA centrists who will steadily realize they've been had? Shapiro. AOC. Harris. Walz. And you. Anyone else?

🪚DISMEMBERSHIP 🪚

As Donald dismembers U.S. alliances & Elon dismembers critical govt agencies, MBS, who dismembered Khashoggi, hosts “peace talks” (for piece parts) as Vlad dismembers Ukraine. And democracy hangs on by a limb!

It’s useless to contact elected officials. Because of gerrymandering NONE of them even come close to representing my views.

The right spent decades unfairly attacking Rooevelt for giving away Eastern Europe at Yalta, though short of immediately attacking the Red Army once Eisenhower arrived in Berlin is always been impossible to explain what options Churchill and Roosevelt had at the time.

Now though the cheers on Trump doing what the right always pretended FDR did in Yalta, just handing the Russians a gigantic victory at the conference table they’ve proved incapable of achieving on the battlefield. For what it’s basically a rounding error on the US Defence Dept budget, the bravery of Ukranians has allowed the west to sit in peace and bleed the Russian army white, now Trump, with Putin on his knees wants to just hand him a victory, destroy the western alliance, enslave 20% of Ukraine and enfeeble the rest and for what? What exactly does Trump think the west gets out of this ‘deal’

The Republicans who now better, like McConnell, should know that they will be looked at as the undertakers of the western alliance, they had multiple opportunities to put a stop to this, all it would have done is cost the establishment Republicans one election, an election that would have almost certainly come with one chamber in their hands anyway, hamstringing the Clinton or Harris administration from the start, now they’ve lost their party forever, destroyed the western alliance system, given up global US leadership, emboldened China and gifted the Dems 2 years of United Govt from 2021-23 where Biden pushed through an entire policy agenda they hated

The fact a bunch of people who can’t be bothered to educate themselves on the miracle we’ve built in the west and how dangerous it is to mess with the building blocks are cheering this on, is making me sick

nobody needs to save anyone. They chose their trump. Now let them pay for him.

There aren’t enough democrats. So let republicans do as they will. Warning about democracy dying doesn’t work. Reminding ppl that project 2025 contained some bad shit doesn’t work. Telling them our alliances are fragile doesn’t work.

Our democrat leaders should do one thing, and that’s fight in the courts. They cannot legislate in this climate. They already tried with the charges and the impeachments. Leave these people alone. They failed because you failed.

The courts will be the only flaccid sad sack hope we have. Live with it

The knowledge that this is what people voted for - including those who were too lazy to vote - is the only thing keeping me sane. But what I don’t understand how anyone including rabid maga is willing to tolerate Musk’s unbelievably arrogant posts that basically diss an entire population.

I think our politicians on both sides of the aisle DO know what is happening and either are too scared to speak up (except those wonderful few), they are hoping they will not be caught up in the backlash, or they are fully invested in it. I don’t think any of them are ignorant about what is happening and why.

I will say at the start- I do not think Trump is a threat to our democracy. People shouting out talking points and false media narratives are. Everyone needs to stop crying that out- because Republicans say that about the last administration. It just empowers "anti-" and not how we work together to resolve the issues. To say that half the people in this country are a threat to democracy is absolutely not true. All the people, I would like to think, are looking for the truth. The truth isn't in shouting and pointing fingers. Most of us are waiting for someone to tell the truth, put action to words- besides social issues- while the country falters and goes more into deficit? How did the war begin in Ukraine- a country known for its corrupt politicians? What part did the last administration play- who tried to delude the American people, and were quite successful for a while, that our president was "sharp as a tack." The Democrats and Republicans have long been talking about corruption in government. Now that DOGE is finding it, everyone is upset that they found it? I read reports that money sent from USAID to other countries was not appreciated by the people of the country, but saw it as a way to make them subservient to the USA. We have long had that reputation. Is it just that the Democrats are supposed to find corruption first? Every post I read says the "opposite" party, and followers of such, are a threat to democracy. I do not see any more thoughtful dialogue here than rants on more conservative pages I have read. Could you stick to the facts? I, and the American people, are smart enough to make a good decision if you just give facts, unbiased, and let us decide. There is plenty of blame to throw around, can we start by being different?

Thank you. You do not have to hold my hand. I just cannot hear well when people are raging. Both sides rage. That was my point. So much of the media is biased on both sides. It is hard to know where to look. Most of what I read comes from reporters. I will look those people up. What I heard through interviews was Democrats and Republicans were having trouble getting responses from USAID- they did not feel they had to answer to congress. USAID is also not elected but they send our money to causes most people are not aware. Which is ok, until we are in such deficit and find abuse. Abuse is in the eye of the owner it seems. But, thank you. I appreciate your response.
