It doesn't seem possible that Chez has been gone for six years. I remember the day I found out. It was a shock then, and we're still feeling the loss. I so wish he were here to report on the insanity as only he could. I'm glad his work is still around. We need him.
I clearly remember reading the post the morning this happened, and I spent the rest of the day being absolutely stunned. Of course, I didn't know Chez personally, but I had been reading his work for a really long time and loved his perspective. There have been so many times over these past six years that something absolutely ridiculous would happen in politics, and I think - I wonder what Chez would say.
I loved that guy (even though, like LaWanda, I'd never met him). When Ben announced his death, it was like a dagger in my heart. Wish we still had him--he'd give us a laugh (as he always did) during moments of existential terror, which there seem to be a lot of since 2016.
I never met Chez but after reading his letter to Texas I love him. Rest in peace dude.
