I was rooting for her in 2020 before her campaign stalled and am glad she's backing up Biden. With Joe's re-election, Biden's Administration should be able to promote Harris as the new face of the Democratic Party and position his V.P. well for 2028.... 🗳☑
It’s just a dumb talking point that exposes the fact a lot of political journalism is unimaginative by the numbers snoozeville.
But of course they need to pretend to make an effort at treating a virulent fascist cult like a healthy political party and pretend to find something to rag on the Dems about and if this is the best they can do then it’s surely a good sign, because Biden’s age isn’t an issue, most people in their 20s and 30s would be hard pressed to have his knowledge and awareness of the issues and be able to speak to them fully and intellegently, not to mention basically own the GOP during the State of the Union, also Turnip is just about the same age.
This is a non-issue and if Trump does debate him, I have no doubt Biden will more than hold his own as he did in 2020.
One reason why the Biden is old thing keeps going (besides the overt and continuous efforts by the press) is the perception that he's not visible, not doing enough press, for starters (I recall a stat somewhere that he's done less press conferences than any POTUS). The most effective way for a POTUS to get the message out is by repeatedly talking about it. Non-stop. The bully pulpit is only useful if you actually use it.
Whether that messaging will get through or not is another issue, but imagine if the last two years he was front and center every week, doing...something. He should be doing social media town halls, doing regular press conferences and the like when he was touring the Infrastructure and Inflation Reduction acts, did he do local press gaggles in those cities? Shame on me if I missed it if he did, and I pay attention to this stuff. TFG might have mainly picked friendly GOP propaganda outlets for the longer interviews, but he did them, and was in front of a mic every week it seemed.
Again, would it all break thru? At the least, you need to be as relentless as your opponents are, and as the media is, too. All that said, the "Biden is old" meme is another example that the "liberal media bias" is a freaking myth!
IMHO he has been pretty visible and in front of reporters on a regular basis. He’s definitely not going to get into a back and forth with TFG or MTG or that whole twisted storm of kak and it’s the right approach, that clearly establishes him as the adult.
Biden's age is definitely a continually overblown issue. The only "evidence" ever shown is by meticulously edited slow-motion clips of him blinking or something stupid like that.
