I’ve been thinking for a while that our old definitions of what constitutes “the left“ and ” the right“ are obsolete, and no longer reply to our current situation. (I’m not sure what I would replace them with.)
I’d like to extend that thesis to the so-called “horseshoe theory“. Horseshoes have a gap between the farthest-left point and the farthest-right point. I think that with our current politics there is no gap. It’s more like a color wheel; there is a continuum, a blending, where the “left“ and “right” now meet, with no discernible boundary. 🤔😉😊
