I just can't wrap my head over Trump's winning this most consequential election. I almost want to believe that he actually "stole" the election, along with assistance from Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet. But as you mentioned in your podcast today, fewer people voted this time than in 2020 and those who did wanted to punish Biden or Harris for the economy that was really all not that bad. This was a problem with the mainstream media that still carried articles about a supposed recession right up to September, only a month or so from the election. And misinformed and deluded voters believed it! Instead of voting for character and morality and the future of the country under a second Dump administration, they settled with their checkbook instead. Boy, will they be in for a rude awakening when the economy does tank under policies carried out by the Orange Menace. They will begging for the Democrats to return then.

The selection of these madmen for important Cabinet posts just illustrates Trump's frame of mind: he wants only sycophants in these jobs who will do his bidding and screw up the regular machinery of government. As of result of these voters' selfishness in choosing this criminal once more as president, they've screwed the country as well.

You mentioned the role of MSM's in driving the "are we in a recession?" narrative, solely because they knew that question gets clicks, so they made it into a self-fulfilling prophecy by titling countless articles with that headline. I've noticed the MSM's, and even SNL, fall into line this week, softening the "Trump is a fascist" talk and driving the "well, he has a mandate" narrative. I've seen all the celebs who vented about the election victory last week walk back their comments this week out of fear for their careers and lives. And saddest of all, I've seen Bill Maher finally plunge into the rabbit hole that consumed Taibbi and Lara Logan. This week's episode is the last one I will ever watch -- it was filled with tasteless trans jokes, COVID conspiracy, and most jaw dropping of all, Musk deity worship -- Maher is convinced Musk is a "genius engineer" who single handedly invented all the technology within his companies -- he went on a long rant praising Musk for designing the rockets that returned to nest, inventing EV vehicles, and more. A once potent voice of centrist sanity is likely gone with little chance of ever returning.
