This is one hell of an article. Justin needs to get this published in every major newspaper that he can, all across the country. And those of us that still do any reading need to pass the synopsis on to the rest of US voters, especially those that have been taught acceptance of this kind of foray into corporate & fundamentalism fascist BS by the billionaire donor class, Fox News and Russian disruptive influence operations. Good show.

So how many people have you forwarded this article to? How many newspapers have you contacted?

Not trying to get on your case, but I’m tired of the “people should to do something” comments like yours from folks who always mean “some other people should to do something.” while not doing those things themselves.

So… how many times have you done what you’re telling Justin he should do?

When Biden wins (and he will...none of this silly "replace Biden" shortsightedness) the court needs to be expanded, arguments made to challenge these rulings, overturn the current ruling (thanks for ending "established interpretation of the law" through Roe), and flip off the current Roberts Court.

The longer game is to dominate Congress and make laws that turn these rulings (especially the immunity ruling) impotent.

Man am I losing my patience with this current caricature of the SCOTUS.

Chief Justice Roberts needs to revisit his piece as well, as it directly conflicts with what he wrote four years ago when issuing decision for the same plaintiff, same issue of immunity, in a different case. I wonder what changed?

The opinion he wrote in '20 tRump v Vance included this;

In our judicial system, “the public has a right to every man’s evidence.”1 Since the earliest days of the Republic, “every man” has included the President of the United States.

You have a bunch of unelected religious zealots in robes who decide which elected a President gets to govern and enact his agenda and which elected President has his entire agenda blocked or reversed, they even put their thumbs on the scale for how those Presidents are elected

Am I talking about America or Iran?

Has anyone realized that SCOTUS gave themselves the ability to legally accept “gifts” (bribes), with the Snyder ruling? Truly self-serving and a big ole’ FU to the rest of us. Nice job Kavanaugh.

Expand full comment

They have not. Snyder applies to state and local officials.

However, they will 100% use that as “precedent” for a follow up case in the next year or two to erase federal bribery laws.

They do these things in steps.

Thank you Justin. Can I still be pissed off, though?

You left out Ketanji Jackson Brown and included an old white guy in your pictures of the justices

Yeah, that picture of her looks an awful lot like Steven Breyer. (I love his ice cream, btw.) 🤔😉😊

Call me naive, but I still believe that a more perfect union is achievable. I am frightened, appalled, frequently and supremely apoplectic. I cry a lot because I process extreme anger that way. My heart is broken by the cult of personality I see and hear all around me that openly calls for murder and violence over ideas, ideology, personal and bodily autonomy and the simple privilege afforded me to vote. I am in a state of perpetual existential grief and despair that wilfully blinded, deafened and dumb individuals I once thought were rational, reasonable human beings are willing to put a criminal, a convicted felon, a sexual and physical abuser of women and girls, a fomenter of violence and insurrection, revenge against all purported “enemies”, real or imagined, in the White House.

The only thing I have to work with are my words, and my ballot. I am voting for Joe Biden, and the Democrats, up and down, as if my life depends on it. As if all our lives depend on it.

Because it does.

“Then again, this is going to get a lot of people killed so the choice is either cry or laugh to hide the pain.”

Really? The choice is which way we want to wallow in our hurt feelings? How about instead of curling up in a ball we view the choice as either becoming active in the community to get out the vote or joining an actual campaign to help in whatever way is needed?

A choice between actions rather than which feewings to indulge in.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is looking awfully pale and old in your pictures of justices.

Talk to Ben. -_-

Alas, I’m not talking to Ben just now. Maybe once he stops shilling for Trump by calling for Biden to step down.

Ben adds the pictures and publishes. He changed it.

Yep. Saw that.
