Greenwald is an agent of influence for Russia. He was always a lying sack of shit. Snowden was either a knowing or unknowing dupe of Russia.

I don’t know what lead me to finding The Daily Banter or when. Possibly Oliver Willis’s blog and at least a decade ago. Whatever it was I’m glad something did. The real journalism I get here is always appreciated.

"The point...to divide the American public...elect a compliant dummy to the White House...weaken NATO...elevate authoritarian puppets.. cripple intelligence alliances. There it is in a nutshell. A perfectly logical roadmap if you're a paranoid megalomaniac. Thanks Ben

And it all started with Edward.... Really? This seems a quite personal point of view. What about citizens united?

What does Citizens United have to do with Putin?

Everything, everywhere, does not have to do with Putin. Trump was not elected simply due to Russian manipulation. Many people living difficult lives, worried about having food and medical care and a bunch of racists were sold on him from the start. Big piles of money control politics, not good arguments.

Without Putin, Trump never would've won that election. I've been covering this story from day one, so I know some things. The "economic anxiety" argument is a weak cable news talking point. Russia bastardized all of the traditional issues, spinning them into lies spread on social media, not to mention myriad lies about Hillary. But the point of this piece wasn't 2016 or how Trump won. It was about how Putin's operation began with Snowden with the intention to weaken western alliances, making it that much easier for him to invade.

Yes,I apologize,I was not reacting to the main point of your piece. The problems seem quite layered, though. Putin and his trolls did not create the increase in racism,we did that ourselves. Not economic anxiety but-"we need a bigger slice of pie" -anger- might explain Bernie Sanders having such a surprising campaign, as well as trump.

No worries -- just a friendly debate. :) I have no doubt economic issues contributed to many votes for Trump, but what put him over the top was the disinformation, etc.

" the increase in racism"

It hasn't increased. It never reduced.

They just don't hide it any more.

True! Racism was pushed underground by the politically correct campaign, but returned full force with the election of a Black president and the birth of the Tea Party. Systemic, institutional racism never went away. Law enforcement, financial institutions, medical, educational, real estate, systemic racism is alive and well in America.
