Well, you were right. Trump is going to do something extreme to bring the narrative back to him. "Trump is safe after gunshots in the vicinity" -- says a campaign spokesperson. Essentially saying, "remember when he was shot at -- becoming a 100% lock on winning the campaign? It's happening again!" -- Kinda genius in a way, because there's no likely way to proving it. A car backfiring a mile off? Fireworks? Noises in their head? Oh there will be an investigation for sure, but if the media takes the bait (and it looks like they will), we'll be wasting away in Martyr Really Ville for a few more news cycles.

Your post is an appalling example of the kind of reckless, baseless, and destructive rhetoric that is rotting the core of public discourse today. To accuse someone, let alone a former president, of plotting an assassination attempt on themselves without a shred of evidence is not just ignorant — it’s vile. You’re actively fanning the flames of misinformation, and your flippant attitude towards such a serious matter is disgraceful.

Do you even comprehend the weight of the accusation you’ve made? This isn’t some childish game where you throw out wild conspiracy theories for likes and attention. You’re accusing a man of staging his own death attempt, trivializing not only the gravity of potential violence but also undermining the real threats that people in the public eye face daily. Your words contribute nothing but division, chaos, and distrust, and they reveal a disturbing lack of any moral foundation.

What kind of person relishes in spreading such dangerous ideas? Clearly, someone with no regard for truth, decency, or faith. It’s hard to believe that anyone with a shred of conscience or reverence for God could stoop to this level of deceit and malice. You’re not offering clever insights or criticism — you’re peddling lies and fueling hatred. People like you are the reason why our society is becoming more fractured, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Grow up, reflect on the harm your words cause, and learn to contribute something meaningful, because right now, all you’re doing is poisoning the well of public debate with your godless, destructive nonsense.

Spreading misinformation is what the Trump/Vance campaign has done all week via a national political platform about legal residents of Springfield, Ohio -- causing an entire community of hard working people to live in fear. Tossing out some not too far fetched suspicions about a potential "wag the dog" political tactic as a private citizen comment on an opt-in Substack newsletter is something else entirely.

You commented the way you did because of where you are. The moron, Ben Cohen, that writes The Banter fuels people like you. You are hateful and likely Godless.

None are more godless than those who proclaim their love of Jesus while spitting on everything he stands for. You worship a man who admits to lying about Haitians in Ohio, a violation of the 9th Commandment.

Enjoy burning in hell for eternity, sinner.

Do you believe in God, Justin? Do you worship Him?

I sent you a private message but I feel like your readers need to see who you really are……

Justin, let me break it down for you. You sit there, spouting off nonsense and acting like you have the moral high ground, but when you look in the mirror, you don’t see a real Christian — you see the very embodiment of evil. It’s people like you who fuel the garbage that’s tearing this country apart. And the real tragedy? The elites in the Democrat party don’t even care about you. They see you as nothing more than a disposable pawn in their game.

You’re nothing but a sad, unemployed shell of a man, playing babysitter to your wife’s kids while trying to pass yourself off as someone of value. It’s pathetic, Justin. Truly pathetic. And the worst part? You make a few bucks peddling hate and ignorance with every pathetic word you write, thinking you’re making some kind of impact. But deep down, you know the truth. You’re miserable. Guys like you are always one bad day away from breaking — constantly teetering on the edge because you can’t even stand yourself.

You’re not a man, Justin. Real men stand for something. They don’t hide behind a pen, spewing venom while surrounding themselves with equally miserable, brainwashed followers. Misery loves company, doesn’t it? You thrive on it, wallow in it. But here’s the truth: you won’t admit it — not now, not until it’s too late, when you finally slip your head into the noose of your own making.

Despite this harsh reality and the fact you’ll likely dismiss every word I’ve said, I’m still praying for you. Because deep down, I hope you wake up before it’s too late. But until then, you can keep hiding in your delusions, Justin. Because that’s all you’ve got left.

OK, so it looks like they detained someone -- but I'm highly suspicious. If Trump was on the green (and not on at a public event), how could a lone wolf outsider have access to his schedule and precise whereabouts in order to get in position to take a pot shot? And how convenient the Secret Service shoot the gun out of his hand, missing him entirely? I'm gonna guess payment (or other arrangement) was made to get this guy to make a headline and change Trump's political narrative. Trump becomes a martyr again. His wannabe assassin gets to ay off some debts. Help out family members. Get a pardon when Trump wins. I can see a desperate person falling for it. And even if I'm way off base, in this heated campaign, I'm honestly surprised there isn't more violence directed at campaign events up and down the ticket. Testament to our intelligence and law enforcement agencies doing the work.
