Let's restore Donald Trump to a Unified Third Reich! There is no doubt that the Hitler theme was spewed out by the Trump campaign and their denials notwithstanding mean nothing, knowing who Dump appeals to, as you mentioned in your podcast. I can't fathom Nikki Haley's obeisance to this wanna-be dictator. She is just as complicit as Dump in this bent toward fascism in this country. She has no principles other than licking the boots of Chump. She just represents the cult party like everyone else. I agree with Ben over his admiration for Chris Christie who stood above the mewing crowd of Trump acolytes and who criticized him mercilessly. Why do you think that people like Haley and others need to still support Trump now if they want to have a career in politics as late as 2028? Could Drumpf still be in fashion as late as 2028? I dare hope not!

We have to envision a time when Drumpf is gone, as Justin points out.

How can President Joe Biden give the orders to assassinate his political rival when the Supreme Court still hasn't ruled on total immunity for the former president? Only then if they are stupid enough to grant him immunity could Biden have authorized deadly force against Chump! Only when that happens could we have this silly argument about Biden ordering Drumpf to be assassinated. There is no sense to even be discussing this since Chump is totally deranged anyway - as well as the entire "Reputin," as I call it, party under the reins of looney Marjorie Taylor Greene et al.

Like Justin, I have experienced very little personal antisemitism, even in those years that I lived in Dixie. My last name (Mark) is pretty neutral, but I definitely look Jewish.

Here’s a story. I’m 12 years old, leaving junior high school, waiting for the bus. I don’t know if I bumped into this girl, or stepped on her foot, or whatever, but she turned to me and with serious distain sneered “you Jew bastard“. Being a very naïve 12-year-old the only thing I could think of was “How did she know I was Jewish?”🤔😉😊

I had exactly one customer call me a Jew Bastard in my 20+ years of retail and my reaction was exactly the same: "How did he know?"

I finally came to the conclusion that she didn’t know, it was just her go-to epithet; it didn’t matter whether the target was Jewish or not. 🤔😉😊

I had to dig a bit to find anything that said Maggie Haberman was Jewish. It’s not in her Wikipedia page. What I did find is several citations of an apparent quote, “I was raised a journalist”.🤔😉😊

Wow, Ben, your anger seems quite justified. And here I thought that chess was the last bastion of purely meritocratic competition. ‘Course, even in the last bastion there will be assholes.

P.S. I suck at chess. 🤔😉😊

The “random staffer” was Natalie Harp, aka “Trump’s human printer”, the woman that follows him around with a portable printer, printing out articles etc. that say nice things about him. https://is.gd/LN7ovE 🤔😉😊

Justin‘s story about saying shit to each other when he was young is actually a very common thing among young boys. When I was that age, we called it “ranking out”. I’m told that in some African-American communities it’s called “the dozens”. (“Hey, no mothers, man!”)

It’s a precursor to what as an adult I term “giving each other good-natured shit” (emphasis on “good-natured”). Justin‘s right, it’s not really mean-spirited. What it is, it’s a way of establishing your place in the pack hierarchy.🤔😉😊

I think it’s still more likely than not that Christie will weasel out (apologies to actual weasels, as ever). But Christie has more chutzpah than Haley (also, New Jersey, right?) and he has less to lose. So maybe. It would have a lot of impact, I expect. 🤔😉😊
