I'm not sure whether I think the GOP has already read A Canticle for Leibowitz, or whether I should be afraid of what will happen if they do.

"Nothing had been so hateful in the sight of these mobs as the man of learning, at first because they had served the princes, but then later because they refused to join in the bloodletting and tried to oppose the mobs, calling the crowds 'bloodthirsty simpletons.'

"Joyfully the mobs accepted the name, took up the cry: Simpletons! Yes, yes! I'm a simpleton! Are you a simpleton? We'll build a town and we'll call it Simple Town, because by then all the smart bastards that caused all this, they'll be dead! SImpletons! Let's go! This ought to show 'em! Anybody here not a simpleton? Get the bastard, if there is!" (Walter Miller, A Canticle for Leibowitz, 1959)

They're already living it and quite proudly. :(

This man, Donald Trump, is as delusional as they come. Hell, New Yorkers screamed at his damn motorcade when he drove by. I would have joined them if I could. They gave Marjorie Taylor Greene the finger as well. She hightailed it out of New York City when she was booed unmercifully by New Yorkers and then she had the balls to lambast the city for its crime, crime, crime, and this is from a woman who spent a total of 10 minutes in Manhattan! She should be married to Trump, not Melania. They'd make a great couple: they're both in Fantasyland!

So sorry to hear about Bob's father during today's podcast. I hope his father recovers as well as he can.

How can anyone believe him after January 6 and two impeachments - and now one indictment? It's true most of his ardent supporters live in a bubble, fueled by Fox News, Newsmax, and other far-right "news" outlets.

The lawsuit filed against Michael Cohen is such a desperate step from a desperate man. The lawsuit must be dismissed for its ridiculousness. As Bob said, the reason why Dumpf is doing this is to take out vengeance against Cohen for his daring to speak out against him. As Justin pointed out, the lawsuit will backfire in Dumpf's face since his financial transgressions have been laid out for all to see.

MTG must be the worst member in Congress, hands down! Her defense of the Second Amendment is indefensible. She's a blonde time bomb and needs to be defused finally by the truth! Democrats - and moderate Republicans - must call her out whenever she opens her foul mouth! Her interview with Lesley Stahl was horrible and she should not have been given any air time at all. Shame on CBS here.

How do we continue to vote for these stupid repugnicans is beyond me? As Bob indicated, many people still trust the Orange Menace, as I call him, when it's so obvious - at least to me - that he's a con man and very unintelligent.

The situation in Tennessee was not covered, I'm surprised. This was when the two Black representatives were expelled by the House for violation of rules of decorum and then were reinstated within a week. This had to be a bad day for repugnicans in that state. As you mentioned the situation in Wisconsin earlier.

Anyway, I enjoyed the podcast as usual.

We can only squeeze in so much before it becomes a 2 hour podcast. I wouldn't mind talking for 2 hours but I'm pretty sure most people would get bored and tune us out by then. ;)
