Y’know, Ive long been concerned by the seemingly sudden flip to the hard right by previously legit journalists to a pathetic duck sucking kkkristian nationalism.

Do we have any psychologists who can explain how/why it happens?

Unless it’s just about money?

Really is amazing how the lure or striving for money can make people become so twisted. Evidence: greenwood, Taibbi, trump and 90% of the republican party and it’s base. I guess we can’t leave out their deeply ingrained racism.

Glenn Greenwald and Peter Thiel are a worldwide embarrassment for gay people.

I’m sorry Ben but you have this completely backwards, when people like Greenwald and Taibbi show you how shallow their thinking is, display their lack of intellect and total disingenuous nature for the world to see, the thing to do isn’t to keep reading in the hope they’ll write something you agree with

What you need to do (as I have with Taibbi, and it’s not a fun process) is to go back and read the stuff they wrote when they came down on the same side of an issue as you but this time read with a critical eye, you’ll be ashamed (I know I was) to go back and read this stuff and see the number of weak arguments, disingenuous linkages and incomplete arguments that you/I once cheered on because it was on our side

These guys (the only reason I didn’t do the same with Greenwald is because I pegged him as a phoney since his Guardian days so no need to reassess) didn’t suddenly become stupid or disingenuous or frauds with weak arguments and a shallow intellect, they always were, it’s just that upon a time they were attacking people we didn’t like

Seriously go back and read some of Matt’s GFC stuff again, reading with a critical eye u see through it and almost become a Goldman-Stan (well not quite but you get my point)

Gotta say, I enjoyed that.

A collection of journalistic has beens, spectacles and ne’er do wells from the Bush era desperately trying to get in the spotlight again.

Maybe Greenwald can restart wiki leaks for what’s his name in jail? Or get the traitor back from Russia and they can have a grand re-opening.

I for one don’t miss any of those people from the news. Let them melt away in obscurity.

"...the rise of Trump was the fault of the Democrats"

Well, that much IS true. Why?

The Democrats stopped being the party of the working class and morphed into the party of the professional, managerial class. With no alternatives in a two party system, the working class - the "deplorables" in Hilary Clinton's elegant phrasing - were more vulnerable to disingenuous overtures from Pubs, and became captive to the incendiary "logic" of populist incitement by a right wing fascist inclined demagogue.

Yes, it is in part the fault of Democrats for losing the working class. And they STILL don't seem to get it.

Please remember: MLK was assassinated after he supported the Memphis sanitation workers.
