This post absolutely made my day. I think all cisgendered men should have their makeup done at least once to better appreciate what many women do every single day either as a form of self expression, or due to the pressure society places on them to "put on their face" before daring to leave the house. Never again will they question "what's taking you so long?" On a related note, "Celebrities without makeup" remains a revolting staple of gossip rag culture as it implies women are incomplete without face paint. As a gender nonbinary feminine-leaning person who was born male, I watched femininity from the outside looking in for most of my life, and now can finally enjoy such expression for myself. It would be such a treat to have a skilled, in-house pro like your daughter in the house! Cheering on your family bonding. And on a final note, when attending the Barbie movie with my daughter, I chose rainbow colored plisse satin pants with a complementary top, another dude (clearly there to see a different movie), asked why I was dressed like a fishing lure. His tone changed when I mentioned I was taking my daughter to see Barbie, but I shouldn't need a child shield to simply be dressed divinely.

I painted my nails pink which is not a color I prefer (I usually wear red with a single blue highlight nail). Anastasia decided that wasn't enough and had me wear several pink scrunchies on my wrists. We had a great time!

Here's a theatre rec for you, Lila and Claudia should it ever come to your town: I definitely recommend "Head Over Heals", which ran off-Broadway for about a year pre-Covid. You may remember it as "the Go-Go's musical" but it doesn't have anything to do with that band. Instead it's a totally gonzo medieval fairy tale that has a lot of Rocky Horror influence. I'm guessing the three of you will love it!

I'll keep an eye out for it!

Years ago on a 200 hundred mile trip my two grandsons in the back were watching a movies on the portable dvd thingy we get them. At the end of the trip they started saying things familiar but out of place for two young boys. They said they got it from the dancing movie they watched on our way home, they forgot the name, they got the dvd case it came in with the same cover the movie from 1971 displayed at theaters, they had watched HAIR. 🤣🤣🤣 I’d forgotten it was in the car, I had gotten back and tossed it with the others. Boy did I have a lot of slain I h to do. About everything in it. Where is Manchester England the oldest one asked? Where’s that park, they want to go. Why were the soldiers so mean at the end and why were they singing that song at the grave yard. It’s was funny but a lot I had no answer for. Oh and why did they lock the man up for having long hair.

You had to be there. 🤣🤣🤣

I'm so glad the kids are getting into D&D now. I played back in the 80s (and had Tunnels and Trolls too, which is essentially a sillier version of D&D). When I moved to my current town 20 years ago, my wife's brother recruited me into his group. We've been playing together for that whole 20 years. If you have time to waste, the new D&D PC game, Baldur's Gate 3, is really good, but it's rated MA for a reason. Game on!

I miiiiissss playing so much with adults on a regular basis. Maybe when the kids are off to college, Deb and I will find a local game to join.

I would love to get back in PC gaming but that would mean shutting out the rest of the world for hours on end and I don't currently have that luxury. Someday...

We never had kids, so I do have that luxury...though not as much as when I was younger (when I used to stay up until 4 am with my Super Nintendo). And I'd love to DM with kids (and I think, by doing so, you're teaching them great lessons), but I must say that playing with adults, where we can drink beer and swear, is pretty nice. Our group is all friends and we've got pretty comfortable over the years. I nearly always play the tank.

I love your political stuff, but I also love reading about your unconventional family situation, which is even more touching given the obvious love and respect you all have for each other. Keep on keepin' on!

1 - your brow game is on point! Those of us atoning for the sin of over plucking in the ‘90s are jealous.

2 - with your coloring, you should request the Strawberry Girl look next from your local artiste https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/strawberry-girl-makeup-products

3 - you are the best dad

1. For a while I was having my eyebrows waxed just the tiniest bit, mostly just to remove the middle part but now I just pluck it myself. ;)

2. I'll have to see what Lila says. She is the expert.

3. Thank you! I do what I can.
